Introducing the DSM-5-TR

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – Fifth Edition (DSM-5) was released at the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) annual meeting in May 2013 and the Text Revision was released in March 2022. Considering the changing healthcare landscape, it is more important now than ever that practitioners understand the benefits and limitations of the diagnostic guide. This course will review the evolution of the DSM, including the possible future direction and challenges utilizing the manual. The training will introduce select DSM-5-TR diagnoses. (NOTE: Serious Mental Illnesses and disorders commonly encountered first during childhood will be covered by other trainings offered by The Coalition)
