We’re looking for another Youth Peer Specialist in Albany to join our team at the Office of Advocacy and Peer Support Services at OMH!!!
The Office of Advocacy and Peer Support Services acts to promote the inclusion of people who participate in or are impacted by the mental health system and their supports. As such, we’re seeking to promote inclusion of more youth perspectives in OMH through the Youth Peer Specialist role. Among other tasks, Youth Peer Specialists participate in systems advocacy, working internally within OMH toward systemic changes (see link for more). Post closes 3/5/26

• Develop a partnership with guests experiencing crisis utilizing trauma-informed, recovery oriented, intentional peer support and provide support to peer specialists
• Provide strength based, Person centered, trauma-informed, social determinants of health assessments of children’s biological, educational, psychological and social needs.
• Develop connection with guests experiencing an emotional crisis by utilizing trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented focus and intentional peer support and provide support and recommendations

The Career Coach provides personalized employment related support including job/internship preparation and search, job development, placement, and job retention coaching to HTH participants. Through a customized array of services delivered both on site and in the field the Career Coach provides support and skill development toward success and satisfaction as a trainee in the HTH classroom, on an internship, and while engaging and sustaining employment.

The Program Manager is responsible for the coordination of peer initiatives within the Agency, including those at Riverview Apartments and the Wishing Wellness Center.

Work in collaboration with staff and members in the daily operation of BCS’s Greater Heights Clubhouse, to provide a safe, nurturing, and non-institutional setting for psychiatric rehabilitation that fosters independent living and greater participation in the community. The Clubhouse Generalist will work in partnership with staff and members in the daily operation of the clubhouse employment, education, advocacy and wellness programs. The Clubhouse Generalist is responsible for engaging Clubhouse members.

Peer Specialists use their “lived experience” to promote resiliency, recovery, wellness, and self-efficacy, and support the practice of youth-guided and family-driven approaches. The Peer Specialist position is community-based. Services are delivered in a variety of settings that meet the needs of the program participants.

The Peer Advocate works with the Program Coordinator in collaboration with the NYC Youth/Family Peer Advocate Training programs to introduce and motivate young adults with mental health and/or lived experience towards professional development.

The CORE Services Certified Peer Specialist is responsible for ensuring members receive person-centered, trauma-informed and culturally competent services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus in their homes or their community. This role is responsible for facilitating the utilization of natural resources and the enhancement of recovery-oriented principles with the intention to assist individuals with initiating recovery, maintaining health and wellness, and enhancing the quality of personal and family life for long-term recovery.

The Adult Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) uses lived experience of mental health recovery to provide non-clinical, recovery-oriented support to adult clients at HSVS’s OMH-licensed MHOTRS clinic. The Peer Specialist offers one-to-one support, co-facilitates groups, assists with navigation and self-advocacy, and partners with the multidisciplinary team to strengthen engagement, hope, and self-management. This role is supervised by licensed clinical staff and complements, but does not duplicate, clinical services

The Peer Services Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and supervision to Peer Specialists and related roles within the Peer Support program and carries a direct clinical caseload within the MHOTRS clinic. This role delivers psychotherapy and conducts intakes for new patients, integrates peer services with clinical care, and ensures quality, compliance, and person-centered outcomes. The Supervisor reports to the Senior Behavioral Health Officer.

We are seeking dedicated Board Certified Peer Support Specialists to work with children & young adults up to age 21. As a Youth PSS, you will use your own lived experience with mental health recovery to connect with clients, provide guidance, and empower them through the unique challenges of adolescence.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Locations: Rockland, Orange, Westchester, Brooklyn, and Bronx.
High school diploma or equivalent required- Age 18–30
